HAPPY BIRTHDAY. action in Saatchi Gallery. 23/11/20146

November 23, 2015

                                                                              ***

on the borders of Her body

is it She

the miracle itself

the mystery the mass the missing the miserable the misogynistic

is it all She is She animal like all language did She

lose Her home Her skin Her face-

less face who touches Her

breathes Her body

She is absent in the movement & present in the

Self-executing happening

in the mirror She draws symbols & symbols on symbols

on the border of Her body

the skin of Her left cheek

Her right cheek

the event searches for

the subject & the subject searches for

the movement & the movement

searches for the body

& the body breathes

I open the window & it is snowing

there She is in the lowland

the lowland covered with snow

up to the horizon

***

over de grenzen van Haar lichaam

is Zij het

wonder zelf het

mysterie de mis het missen het misselijke het misogyne

is Zij het allemaal animaal als alle taal heeft zij haar huis

Haar huid verloren Haar gezichts-

loos gezicht wie raakt Haar

ademt Haar lichaam

besneeuwde vlakte

The action Happy Birthday in Saatchi Gallery 23.11.2015 by Flowers of Democracy, is the destruction of replicas made for the UK/RAINE  exhibition of my Homo Bulla sculptures,  originally exihibited in Izolyatsia Foundation in Donetsk 2012. the Action mirrors the destruction of my sculptures by the occupying forces in 2014 and turning this location into a prison.

Every blow of my hammer like the bullets that destroyed our hopes.

The soap used in the sculptures, origins from the same company that sell soap to the Swedish military industry. Soap blocks are used for ballistic testing, for its similarities in texture to the human bodys soft tissue.

The replicas of the Homo Bulla sculptures for the UK/RAINE exhibition where inspired by an anonymous poem that i received.

If the wind, is as clear, as fresh, as greenish blue

Love and smiles, pure as diamonds. hope not few

Like a soap bubble in this wind, we go

Fragile in the wind, with flow

Not for cleaning, wounds of war

Is our soap

We forget but still remember, try to dream us into hope

But for children is to play with,

Making bubbles out of soap.
